On Monday 6th July, Amazon welcomed a group of 30 students from Alec Reed Academy, Forest Academy and Eastbrook School for an inspiring Diversity Day at their offices
The day started off with an introductory session led by Mohammad Asraf Patel and Fam Kha’lique, highlighting various career roles at Amazon. They also learnt about apprenticeships and how to apply for different roles at Amazon.
Students got an exclusive tour of the Amazon office. Getting to visit the 15th floor and the rest of the facilities that the firm has to offer.
Then, we had an insightful session about T-Levels. Shayhana M. spoke to students about her experience, the opportunities available to them with this pathway and how they can get involved. We also had the privilege of being joined by David Hardcastle, who is a VP at Amazon. Students took part in a Q&A session, getting to hear first-hand from Dave about the skills required to work at the international company and his inspiring words of wisdom.
At lunchtime, it was time for some speed networking with the apprentices (Rushmila Akhond, Seham Shah, Tahiyyah Begum, Bilal Mohammad, Savera Savera, Asad Baig) at Amazon from different departments, including business and project management.
The day wrapped up with an exciting AI Workshop led by Mohammad Asraf Patel and Neveen Elasar, where students learnt about the importance of AI and how to utilise this tool by creating their own AI apps! Finally, some students also had the opportunity to present their apps to the rest of the group and showcase what skills they had learned.

On 19th May, Naz Legacy took 40 students from Azhar Academy, Madani Girls School and Eastbrook School to the Tower of London.
The day was packed with engaging activities, including a fantastic workshop hosted by Fusion, where students explored diversity and belonging whilst learning together.
This was followed by an exclusive chance to explore the Tower’s grounds as students worked in groups to locate the various symbolic sites spread around the Tower.
The day came to a close with a speed networking session where students met up with professionals from various departments and had the opportunity to ask them questions about their career pathways.

On 7th May, 40 students dived into an action-packed Diversity Day with the Royal Navy!
Students from The Forest Academy, Bower Park Academy and Alec Reed Academy attended our Diversity Day. From circuit making, students got hands-on with challenges that tested their teamwork, survival and problem-solving skills – giving them a real taste of life at sea.
After a delicious hot meal from Spice Village, the day wrapped up with an inspiring live experiences session that opened students’ eyes to the wide range of opportunities within the Royal Navy.

On 23rd April, we partnered with Historic Royal Palaces to host a Diversity Day at the iconic Kensington Palace!
We were joined by 40 Year 10 students from Westminster Academy and Paddington Academy for a truly memorable day.
The day kicked off with an inspiring workshop led by Ricardo from Proud to Be, exploring themes of equality, togetherness and cultural celebration, all centred around the concept of ‘Ubuntu’: I am because we are.
Students then enjoyed a delicious meal generously provided by our sponsors, Spice Village, before exploring the palace and taking in the stunning ‘ The Last Princesses of Punjab’ exhibition.
To close the day, students took part in speed networking with staff from across the palace’s different departments — a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn and be inspired about future careers.

On 26th March, we had the incredible opportunity to take 20 students from Bower Park Academy and Ursuline High School on a special visit to the iconic Royal Opera House — and what a truly inspiring day it was.
Led by the brilliant Sarah Waterman, students were given a rare behind-the-scenes insight into the world of opera and ballet, including an exclusive viewing of a live rehearsal. This unique access allowed them to experience the magic of performance in a way few ever do.
Following a delicious lunch kindly provided by Spice Village, students explored the many departments that bring each production to life — from scenic art, props and construction, to costume design, stage management, and technical production, including lighting, sound and automation. We were privileged to access spaces not usually open to the public, giving students a real sense of the scale and complexity behind each performance.
A highlight of the day was meeting the Head of Stage, who shared valuable insights into the pressures and demands of working in this industry. Students were amazed to learn that over 2,000 staff work behind the scenes, deepening their appreciation of the teamwork and dedication involved.

On 6th February, students from George Mitchell School, Caterham High School and Eastbrook School recently took part in a Diversity Day at the College of Fashion, University of the Arts London (UAL), providing them with an opportunity to explore pathways into the creative industries.
During the visit, students participated in an interactive textile workshop that introduced them to the art of sewing and patchwork. The session encouraged creativity and hands-on learning, allowing students to experiment with different techniques and express their ideas through textile design.
The programme also included a Q&A session with current UAL staff and students, offering valuable insight into university life and careers within the creative sector. UL students shared examples of their work, inspiring the visiting students and offering a glimpse of the possibilities available in creative education.
We are grateful to Michele and the team at the University of the Arts London, London College of Fashion, for hosting such an engaging and inspiring day for our students.
On 26th January, students from Alec Reed Academy, Ernest Bevin Academy, and Bower Park Academy took part in an inspiring Diversity Day at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, home of The Championships, Wimbledon.
The visit began with a welcome from the Wimbledon Learning Team, followed by an engaging presentation exploring the business behind one of the world’s most renowned sporting events. Students gained valuable insight into how the Championships are organised and managed, learning about the operational planning, decision-making, budgeting, and priorities involved in delivering a global sporting event.
Students then participated in an interactive CEO challenge, where they stepped into leadership roles and worked in teams to make strategic decisions about budget allocation and event priorities. The activity encouraged critical thinking and teamwork while giving students a practical understanding of the complexities involved in running a major international event.
The programme also included a guided tour of the Wimbledon grounds, where students explored the iconic venue and learned more about its history, traditions, and the meticulous care required to maintain the world-famous grass courts, including Centre Court.

On 22nd January, young people from Azhar Academy Girls’ School, Lantern of Knowledge, and The Forest Academy recently visited Downing College, Cambridge, for an inspiring Diversity Day designed to introduce them to university life and future academic opportunities.
The day began with a guided walking tour of Downing College and its grounds, led by a current first-year student who shared insights into the history of Cambridge and life as a university student. During the tour, students explored key college spaces, including the library and chapel, gaining a better understanding of the academic environment at Cambridge.
Students also had the opportunity to visit the University Museum of Zoology, where they participated in a team-based board game focused on climate change and the environment. The interactive session encouraged collaboration while highlighting important global challenges.
The visit concluded with a Q&A panel, giving students the opportunity to ask questions about studying at Cambridge, including subjects offered, accommodation, and the application process.
