Naz Legacy closes the Market at the London Stock Exchange

On the 3rd of May, the Naz Legacy Foundation was delighted to celebrate Eid al-Fitr at the London Stock Exchange Group. 18 young people were invited to participate in the Market Close Ceremony at LSEG headquarters.

After the closing of the market, the young people learnt about the role of the LSEG Multi-Faith Network in ensuring faith has a seat at the table in the financial sector. The Multi-Faith Network shared with the young people their work advocating for multifaith prayer spaces and how they wish to expand this initiative internationally so that employees of faith can thrive in an inclusive culture.

The students also benefited from a panel discussion with 3 young professionals, learning about the paths which led them to their role at LSEG, including industrial placements, apprenticeships, and the LSEG graduate scheme. The event was successful, with students being given the opportunity to take part in a networking session with professionals, learn about the finance sector, and gain career advice.

The young people reported that the experience had challenged their preconceptions about working in finance and the different pathways to get there.
