It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rizwana Bokhari, beloved mother of Harris and Hina Bokhari. Her legacy of love, strength and unwavering support will forever resonate within our hearts.
Rizwana Bokhari was more than a mother; she was the guiding force behind the achievements of her family. As the wife of Nawazish Bokhari, the first Muslim headteacher of a secondary school in the UK, she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting her children’s commitment to public service.
Her values of education, inclusion and philanthropy are deeply embedded in the work of the Naz Legacy Foundation, which was founded in memory of her late husband. Through this foundation, her family has continued to champion access to education and opportunity for all—causes she wholeheartedly believed in.
Her passing leaves a void in our lives, but her spirit lives on through the Rizwana Bokhari Endowment—a charity fund established in her honour. This endowment will continue her legacy by supporting the education of orphans, a cause she held dear.
