The Foundation was one of the many privileged guests at 10 Downing Street for the Big Society Awards celebration that was hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron last month.

Our Founders and Board member Jonathan Freeman were invited to attend the prestigious event in January 2015.

Jonathan Freeman said: “It was an honour to be invited to attend the celebration event at Downing Street and meet other inspiring organisations that are doing so much to benefit our society.’

Prime Minister David Cameron said: “Naz Legacy foundation is doing fantastic work to ensure young people across the UK are able to fulfil their potential.”

The Big Society is about people having more power and control in their local communities so that they can take action to help others, shape where they live and play a more active role in society.  The Foundation’s recongnition in this area was due to the work inspiring young people to achieve their potential, promoting excellence in education and programmes spearheading positive integration into society.

The government established the Big Society to help fund charities and community groups and the Awards acknowledge and celebrate UK organisations and groups who are doing exceptional work in the community.
