Christine Green – Vice Chair, General Teaching Council

Christine has experience of every kind of teaching: from four year olds to mature students. She was elected as a Primary Teacher to sit on the General Teaching Council for England in 2004. She was re-elected in 2008 and in 2009 was elected to serve as Vice Chair of the GTCE. Christine will hold this position until March 2012 when the GTCE is closed, transferring its duties to the new Teaching Agency.

Christine is a council member of the College of Teachers, and has presented teaching awards both locally and nationally. She has worked with many of the initial teacher training institutions, holding workshops for the students and newly qualified teachers. She has represented the English teaching council at the four other Teaching Councils in the UK and at many other national organisations.
